BEING IN AN ARMY: THE BASICS
Welcome to your first army. You have just commented and been ranked. Congratulations! You’re the lowest rank, but there’s nothing wrong about that. Some armies will place you differently throughout their ranks, each depending on your experience and how many soldiers they have. You may want to join multiple armies, but it is recommended that you keep your armies limited, as each one is very time consuming.
It is best that you bookmark the Army’s site and chat so that you can get updates often and know the information quickly. This is important to staying active.
EVENTS
Events are special things that happen in Club Penguin armies. Each one has a very specific function. The most common is a Battle, in which two armies log onto a server at the same time and perform tactics [see below]. Other events are “Recruiting,” in which one army logs on and tries to get people to join their army, a “Tactics Session,” in which an army practices their performance on Club Penguin, and “Raids,” in which one army logs onto another army’s servers and performs tactics. During a war time, which will be declared by the leader of the army, the most important events are “Invasions” and “Defenses.” Each army has servers that they own.
When you first log on, it is important that you dress yourself into the army’s uniform. This helps separate the two armies and makes your army look more organized.
TACTICS
Following orders from the leader on the chat (owners) is a very important concept that is crucial and must be mastered in order for an army to be excellent. There are three types of tactics: emotes, phrases, and formations.
Emote tactics are the easiest to perform. An owner will say “E6 ON THREE,” and when they say three, you must press the buttons “E” and “6” on your keyboard. Usually, the first part is “E,” and the second digit will vary from numbers to letters. When an owner says “bomb it,” run around the room while pressing E and the second number/letter. It is important that you follow the owner’s directions during the tactic.
The phrase tactic is also easy to perform, but a bit more complicated. First, the owner will say “TYPE IN [Phrase].” On Club Penguin, you must type in what they said, and in this case, would be whatever it says after “TYPE IN.” It is usually best that you Copy and Paste this phrase, as you won’t have to retype it. Sometimes, an owner will say “I WHEN DONE.” After you finish typing it on Club Penguin, and haven’t sent the message, go back to the chat box and say “I.” This will let an owner know who is ready to perform the tactic.
Formations are also easy. For example, the most common formation is “CHAT BAR LINE.” In this case, the army would try to make a line on the blue chat messenger thing on Club Penguin. This helps make an army look organized.
PROMOTIONS AND CHAT RANKS
Promotions are how you work your way up the ranks. Promotions are usually given out at the end of every month. Earning a promotion is hard work, as you must be active during the month. Being active requires you to comment on posts, recruit friends, and most importantly, attend events. Once you reach a certain rank, you can become a chat moderator. This is a very special position. It gives you authority. Soon, you will earn owner and be classified as a leader, 2ic (2nd in command), or 3ic (third in command). This gives you the highest authority on chat and in the army.
